Sure, funk IS strong with me, BUT... oddly enough, i usually use them for establishing melancholy

CM7. It's really chimey, and simple, I can work it into just about anything, and you can flair it up and give it different voicings using the G-B-E strings. Same goes for G6 or FM7b5.

Chords with open strings in general, really. B11 is fun.
