My "church" plays all kinds of great music. We have held mass set to the music of Tool, NIN,Pink Floyd, ect. We also have a naked lady (priestess) and drink a big ass glass o wine!

I usually choose an od to suit the sermon. I find the Timmy works really well for the first few chapters of Matthew, but the lovepedal amp 11 is a lot better for any of the exciting stuff, for example Corinthians.
I can't use delay without tap tempo though. Have you heard of this guy, The Edge? I think his name might be Gaelic as there's no-one round here called The Edge. He uses dotted eighths a lot which I think is a really unique way of getting a tone that's closer to what Jesus used.
I also use a DI as my sound guy doesn't want to mike up my amp.

If you want to know about praise & worship music, check out TGP. It seems as though 60% of the people over there (at least in the effects forum) are in praise bands. It's ultra bizarre.

yeah i've been there, they kicked me off for not having the right pedals or something. I actually thought maybe a "praiseboard" was comprised of only gear that was made by builder's/companies with ceo's that are members of the cult. seems weird, but most interesting.
