I don't know if you'd consider any of what this guy does as sweep picking (and he's a goofball), but he's got some technique:

Are you past the slow beginning and sloppy speed phase yet?

Yeah, I picked it up pretty quickly actually.
I'd say I'm fine up to mid tempos. If I try to sweep too fast, it gets sloppy, but it still sounds kinda good.
I've also found that I like short sweeps over three strings to anything more than that.

An excerpt out of something I'm working on that I think is pretty decent as an exercise. It has a few different one direction sweeps.

7, 10, 9, 9, 8, 7, 10, 8, 7, 5,
5, 4, 2, 3, 2, 5, 7, 5, 3, 2,

Thank, jfrey, that's awesome. I'll have to try that.
I've been trying to incorporate sweeps into my playing rather than just practicing exercises.

Thanks guys. I'm not at home so I can't write this up in guitar pro, but here's another excerpt from a song I have mostly done, that uses a few short sweeps and moves around in an interesting way. The end slides into the beginning when it repeats, and it is pretty decent as an exercise.

Oh, these are supposed to be in standard?
(That explains a few things.)

Oh, yeah. I forgot to put that in the first one. Almost everything of mine is in standard.

That was a joke.
I'd take that everything's always in standard unless stated otherwise.

Ah ok. Sometimes people are actually surprised that I play in standard.

I don't know if Lenny Breau's sweep picking at about 2:00 into this, but it's fucking amazing:

I love metal, but that song fucking blows.
It does have sweep picking in it.
