DOD did make a few four-stage phasers, the 401 and the 490 for instance, but the 201 is definitely only a two-stage phaser.

I have to say I was really happy with the 250 when I tried it Keeps the attack and twang of single coils, but equips them with a power of a pneumatic hammer - just pounding tone, loads of harmonics, really super fun to play

The demos I heard dont thrill me. The attack and sauqash is very un-subtle
