I'm mostly a fan of the muff on its own.
Have tried a bunch of pedals and found some cool sounds, but they take away from the muff characteristics too much.
Boss hm-2 after the muff is how I set up. Only pedal I've found that enhances the muff sound rather than hiding it.
Then again, I pretty much run everything through the hm-2.

Treble booster -> muff is real nice.
SHO -> Muff feels good too (heuhuehuhe)

I use the Devi VFM and DF into a muff all the time.
I imagine a Zvex Machine would be excellent as well. And the Algal Bloom. And, sadly, the tubescreamer>muff.
