Necrotism...

You sure you didn't remove d3 and d4? I removed D1 and D2 and the pedal sounds horrendous. Lost about a million volume and I can hear the clean signal underneath! Removal of diodes was super clean so I'm sure I haven't janked anything else.

I just saw this...

Def remove 1 and 2. Do you have Level cranked? It has to be up all the way. Is the LED lighting up fully? Keep the Level up, and put the Low and Hi at at least half way. Use the gain sparingly. LEt me know if this works.

Here is another demo of my whole board. I use an LS-2 to switch between the Metal Zone and a Mooer Juicer overdrive. There's also a Guyatone The Fuzz in there.
https://app.box.com/s/uqprdmhs385pgcq81lic
Starts off with volume pedal down (not all the way) and with Juicer drive on. Then I kick on The Fuzz. Then I switch from Juicer to Metal Zone. Then I turn off The Fuzz, and you can hear the Zone self-gating. Then I do some palm muting. Switch around a little more and at some point I bring the volume pedal all the way up. Then back to the Juicer at the break, and then all kinds of shit does down. Eventually the Pulsar tremelo comes on and the turds hit the window.

Side note: does anyone else find that Level controls are useless on most commercial distortions? Anything below all the way up is always quieter than the clean signal.

I ended up janking d3 and d4 and soldering them into d1 and d2. That is, just clipped the clipping diodes. I really like the sound, but I may even try some other mods. To my untrained eyes, d1 and d2 are part of the FET switching system. But a lot of the stuff you described in the mod just didn't happen to me. Weird. Can't wait to listen to your clips though :)

Dude I'll feel really bad if I gave you bogus info, but I'll open it up when I get a chance and see. I just went by a schematic I downloaded, and clipped what I remember to be D1 and D2.

Maybe there are different versions? Swedish MT-2 is maybe different? :idk:

One thing I've noticed is that having it in a daisy chain that's fed from a tuner or any other pedal with a 9v out will make it act differently. Daisy chains are ok with it as long as they are fed directly from the wall wart. I dunno about pedal power multi things though. What are you using?

But it's all good dude - I'm super happy with how it sounds and I wouldn't have done it without this thread :thumb:
