Yeah, a lot of multifx work well with synth stuff.

I run my RS-5 and GR-55 synth out through a venerable Boss Me-6B sometimes for the obscene filters and hi/lo-passzz chorus/flange/etc.

Straight up pedals Disaster Fuzz and Bluebox rock.

I like to go post mixer, myself.

Straight up Little Big Muff sounds great with my bandmate's Roland SH-09. We've tried anything and everything with his set-up, like almost everything I own, and a regular old current production version Little Big Muff sounds the best. I think he runs SH-09 > Boss HR-2 > EHX 16SDD > Muff > Looper these days. Sounds awesome.

^yea i've noticed on synths sometimes the most "regular" pedals sound the best.

The big problem with guitar overdrives for synth is usually frequency response. Most overdrives roll off the high end.
I used to use a proco rat with the filter knob completely off (to the right) Granted at the time I didn't have a huge selection.

I've run my Minitaur through a Pharaoh and Guv'nor 2 with some pretty gross results. The sub knob on the G2 through an 810 was knocking over things throughout the house.

I remember my Big Muff sounding awesome on synth.

I've been pretty happy with a Digitech Bass Synth Wah into a Proco Turbo Rat. Pretty grindy synth tones.
