I guess she thinks I'm here in England what the hell can I really do about it. The more people I've talked to the more it sounds like customer service is a weakness at Devi Ever HQ. It has made me think twice about buying direct from her, although I do still like the stuff she makes. In future I'll stick to buying through the UK supplier of DE pedals, if anything does go wrong, I can send it back to them and its their problem. The fact this TP was on at $60 is what lured me in!

Sent my Shoe Gazer back. We'll see what the shop says. Thankfully I bought it from a UK based shop, so returning it wasn't an issue.

She should just let me build all her stuff
Less rats nest, less tape, less issues.
Totes about to build a TP/Aenima/KP and call it the AenimatoPeakerParty(inmuhpantz)

Wish I'd taken a photo of the guts before I sent mine back. Y U PUT ALL THIS TAPE? :poke: Am I being a dick for assuming that Charlotte building these is part of the problem since both of the problems in this thread were recent Charlotte builds? Yeah, probably being a dick....

The way to go I reckon.

Had a look in it today, as suspected, no grounding via the pots or jack and the jacks have undue stress from being pushed up by the switch.

A circular file and quick solder later and hopefully it's all good now when I test it tomorrow.

Definitely sounds bad news

If it's still noisy and needs more debugging I will, looks like there's quite a bit to get off though and i'm not particularly interested in the circuit (schematics are out there) as long as it's doing its job properly :idk:

Not much to look at under there. Just a circuit board with a few parts on it, like most. They are taped because it's the easiest (lazy) way to "protect" the circuit board.

Okay... so I tested it, hum had gone down but noise still at both ends of the texture pot and it barely seemed to do much.

So took the electrical tape off, noise had gone straight away... going to investigate a bit more, see if the tape is conductive, 2 parts were shorting or there's a poor solder joint.

Sorry Smarty, looks like i'm not posting it today!
