Clean blend is kind of like dry humping. You're calling it penetration but we both know you've blended in a layer or two of clothing

When I'm at home; I don't
When I'm in a band; I do.
Dime the Volume.
Because fuck bandmates that's why.
"Boohoo you bass fuzz is too loud and is stepping all over my cleans"
Fuck you guitar player,...get a mid voiced Muff and dime the volume as well. You can do it; it'll be fun and besides all the cool kids are doing,....stahp embarrassing yourself.
Idiot.
Okay real story; I do often times find mahself diming the volume on mah Supercollider,...but then reigninig it in a little with the volume control on the LS-2. This off course being when I actually had the SC in a loop of the LS-2; which is now no longer the case,....so....
Cool Story.

i cant use a stock muff on its own.
either a boost post muff...and using a TS up front to tighten it up/ add presence.
i no longer use stock muffs...only ones from down under...

I never really bonded with my Pharaoh as much as I wanted to since getting it until just two nights ago I got an Elements and stacked it into the Pharaoh. Obv I boosted the low mids on the Elements, and I have it set as a low-mid gain, loud, dirty, boost. Kinda makes my YBA-3 sound like a cranked Vox AC30, which is fantastic. Well, the Pharaoh now sounds excellent after that and cuts through like never before. I even finds self wanting to darken it up a bit, which is odd because its a dark fucking pedal as it is. Anyways, in short, a boost/EQ/overdrive is the perfect solution to a dark, muddy, and/or scooped muff.
Edit: forgot OP asked about muffs on bass, while this reply was mainly for guitar. Though I do have the volume of my muff and my boost at full blast. Fuck it, still on topic.

love the muskett side of my VST for both guitar and bass, but i've been considering flipping for something more compact. maybe just a single muskett who knows.
