Weird, I happen to feel the opposite. The majority of the time, I don't love the tone of a Ray solo but gotten great results when EQ'd properly in a mix.

I still think G&L is a winning result no matter which model they choose.

As much as I hate the feel and playability of Warwicks, they're a great choice for their unique midrange growl and tone... 'speccially playing the metalzzz
