I can't remember the name of the band but they did that song "Hangin' on the Telephone" that Blondie covered. That's what this sounds like to me.

what im really hoping for is....
these promo songs are a joke, and we're gonna get areally dark and depressing album
like mer de noms meets keep telling myself its alright meets Melancholy/Sadness

There's only one person in the band with even the slightest chance of doing anything like that, you realize.

My hopes for this band are mostly that I don't have to listen to them.

Frankly, if "pop rock" still sounded like this instead of post-grunge b.s,, I think music in general would be a lot better off.

I agree, and Iha's solo stuff is nothing like the smashing pumpkins. Listen to his songs "Blew Away" "Go" "Believe" or "The Boy" from The Smashing Pumpkins collection. This band is right up his alley in my opinion.
