bumping an old thread.

I've had all the EHX family of octave stuff. Currently with a HOG again but listening to old recordings where I had a POG2, and I think the octaves sound thicker and a little more "convincing" on the POG2 than the HOG, especially the 2 below octave, super deep and full on the POG2.

It can do lots of organ stuff, but lots of other sounds as well.

The HOG can do so much, as others have said. I rarely use the 3+ or 4+ octaves. I use the freeze/gliss, filter (exp pedal is a must).

Im glad you're happy with the HOG 2 but dont discount synths in general just because of the Micron. That thing sucks hard. Ive played my friend's a feq times and agreed with you, the keys feel like garbage. tweaking sounds isn't very intuitive either, not that they sound very good anyway.

Edit: just realized how old this thread is. Whoops.

The input is no less valid. I remember my first band had a guy who had a micron. After fucking with it for some time I could never figure out what he liked about it. I think the only reason he liked it was because it was cheaper than the MIcroKorg.

I def prefer my MicroKorg to the Micron. Good sounds and very intuitive to use. The Micron just felt like diving deep into menus on a tiny digital display. Wasn't feeling it.

As for the EHX octave stuff, I'm all about the v1 POG. Fatter sounding than the POG2 with that cool grit when the input is turned up. That said I sure do like the presets in the POG2.

Wasn't a fan of the HOG sonically speaking. Sounded thin and weak and fake to me. Cool expression features tho, that's undeniable.

I recently added a Bass Microsynth XO as well and that thing rules. Huge variety of analog synth tones from subtle to nuts and the envelope filter section is fantastic. :thumb:
