So do I but getting the black part to look good has been a pain with the paint I got from stumac and to do it right would mean getting more of something I deem not good [I have rattle canned a lot of stuff and never had the result be SO textured from the paint not leveling out as it dries] also the whole project is going to change back to the original idea which was a bassVI/bari.

OK, I don't question the Mudfuzz. Everything the Mudfuzz builds looks like gold teeth to me. I'm sure it'll come out looking the sparkling best.

:picard: never mind on the refinish.... I just needed to buff it out.. and I've had the stuff to do it here sitting right here the whole time :picard: so orange pin stripes are a go... but still thinking about bass VI or baritoning it :thumb:

do you heat up the cans before you spray? I've had good results with running the hot water in the sink into a container I have the cans in about half way. it warms up the paint nicely and I think it goes on way better.

I will try this. things are changing about what I was going to do… Bass VI/baritoning it after all, and going flat black.
Today: hole filling [epoxy and wood dust]

What kinda epoxy do you use, anyway?
Also...do you happen know if acetone will dissolve a nitro finish?

Cheap crap for this… locktight I think, if you want good stuff for repairs use west system, stuff is awesome!
I hate acetone :barf: that orange shit is the shit, it'll remove powder coat.. which I found out the hard way… which is why I repainted my muff clone… this stuff..

Citristrip though, really? I tried it twice on a table and it did almost nothing to the varnish...
Maybe it was some kinda special finish or something, I dunno.

:idk: I didn't think it would work but it has on a few things so far :idk: you have to cake the living shit out of it and get a wire brush to do instrument finishes  You can used evil chemicals if you want, I don't like to anymore.

update and shit
first coat flat black. I am happy with it considering I am treating this as a primer coat and will be doing some filling and smoothing before more coats…
