Necro bumping the shit out of this because this amp reached stand still at this point and I moved on with my life.
I had a thought today though and I think I may be able to convert the power section to KT88s AND actually run them at enough voltage to make it worth doing (ie, get all the watts, as opposed to cold running).
My big problem with this may be heaters, but I'll put that out here now for anyone to clarify.
Was also thinking of ditching the amp circuit and making it a KT88 slave.
Builder types: doable?
Anyone wanna guide me through the process?
At this point I know I'll need a new chassis, but I'm confident I can keep my transformers and go from there.
Alternatively, is it possible to build a simple slave unit designed around these transformers?
