Ok i just downloaded the app for the H9 and it is 19.99 for each SERIES! So for $20 you can get all the space algorithms or all the mods ect. I think I may have to pick one up. If I dig it I may sell my time factor and buy another H9. It still sucks that after buying a $500 pedal you need to spend another $80 to get all the algorithms but for what it will be able to do it seems worth it IMO. Also I can spend that $80 over a few weeks so that will make it a little easier. Would have been cool if they had taken the idea from strymon and their möbius and did the whole moving the effect in your chain thing.
Haha.... It's $20 per algorithm. It will cost $160 for all the Pitchfactor algorithms and another $200 for all the Space algorithms (minus the ones it comes with). Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

If you think about it though, that's not a bad deal. Especially with having such a small footprint for this sucker.
I could totally see myself getting one of these. It's awesome that you can pick and choose the algorithms! I've owned a Modfactor and Pitchfactor and loved them, but there was shit on both those guys I would never use. The fucking synth shit on the Pitchfactor sucks donkey balls IMO. But most of the other setting are fucking tits!
I'm excited! I want one bad as fuck. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO going to start saving/plotting.

Well frak. That's much less appealing.

naw. Jwarious.... to me that kills it. i thought it was $20 an algorithm. that.... doesn't appeal to me as much.
we'll see if it comes down.

Where did you see that? I downloaded the app and they are bundled in groups. Mod, pitch, ect.

They are fucking sneaky. Fuck them for putting something like this out and not saying what is is REALY going to cost.

$20 per algorithm is fucking madness, ontop of the intial cost?
Fuck. That. Noise.

yeah and I hate the whole "app" "smart phone" thing
that is not rock. it's dumb

Couldn't you just root your device and get them all for free?

Yep.
And they're obviously gonna make a killing from that because the selection of stock algorithms is pretty shit. Nearly half of them are chorus

Yeah I would have to spend $100 right away to get started on the shit I would use it for. It pisses me off that I'm still considering buying one.

Ok. So I decided to download the app and do a little math, because math is where it's at.
Algorithm prices:
Timefactor total cost: 180
Modfactor total cost: 200
Pitchfactor total cost: 200
Space total cost: 240
H9 total cost-20
H9 cost:499
Totally cost for H9 and all algorithms: $1339
Now price cost for each pedal new:
Timefactor:399
Modfactor:399
Pitchfactor:499
Space:499
Total cost of all pedals new: $1796
Let's take this a step further though and talk used/sale prices
Timefactor used average price: 250 (Prymaxe price 15% off new)-339.15
Modfactor used average price: 250 (Prymaxe price 15% off new)-339.15
Pitchfactor used average price: 350 (Prymaxe price 15% off new)-424.15
Space used average price: 390 (Prymaxe price 15% off new)-424.15
Used pedal price total: $1240
Prymaxe Vintage 15% off new total price: $1526.60
SO in conclusion-
H9 all algorithms-$1339
Benefits as I see it-small footprint, no shipping for extra pedals, highly interactive interface via iPad or iPhone, pick and choose which algorithms you want, try algorithms before you commit to purchase, H9 will have more and extra algorithms added potentially just for this system, no wait time for new sounds (download on the spot and use instantly), only one expression pedal needed.
Negatives: Cannot stack effects current (but for all we know Eventide will fix this eventually, this is a HUGE negative though), initial price
All pedal purchase used together- $1240 (potentially less or more depending on who is selling it and how desperate or greedy the sell)
Benefits as I see it- Stack effects for days, turning physical knobs feels better because of nostalgia, lower cost
Negaitves: HUGE footprint (like PT2 almost), knobs were out on Eventides and so do jacks, need for multiple expression pedals or a device that can manipulate multiple expression jacks at once, wait time on shipping
So the difference potentially in price is 99 dollars.
For a hundred more dollars, I believe you get more for you dollar and something with greater potential.
Sorry for the long winded post. I wanted to break it down for myself as well as everyone else. Just so we can have something realistic and comparable.

This exactly. H9 can only be considered a choice when you plan on using few algorithms that are scattered around a number of factor pedals. Still, you'll probably get more bang for your buck buying different pedals from other companies. In turn, I can't think of a situation that could justify spending so much money on such a lousy and expensive product.

That's sad, cause Eventide Space is AWESOME. And other Factors probably are but I don't have much interest in them.

yeah. the pricing scheme pretty much kills my interest.
sucks too. it's a neat idea. i'll wait to see if they come WAY down.

Having owned a space and pitchfactor I know which algorithms work for me and which didn't. I think that's a bit of an advantage. If you have a local guitar shop where you could try the stand alone pedals and see which settings you like the most you could save yourself some money. The other thing that I haven't seen talked about too much on here that kills it for me is the same problem I had with the mobius (other than not liking a majority of the mods): One effect at a time.
