I don't think they're cheap, though.

Been playing a mim j bass recently. It's made my life a lot easier, but these are exactly what I need...

It was either the prototype or #001 Lakland Short Scale Decade Bass, that bass, is the nicest bass I've ever played, ever.

THIS BASS RULEZ

it comes with stupid wimpy strings, but otherwise it's awesome

i recorded my last EP with it, seriously cool :) with thicker strings should be AMAZING (for the money)

I just got one of these this week and I am really Loving It!!! The strings do suck at first and I will get some .45-95 half flats or flats if I can find them... Awesome Bass for the price and my friends all like playing it and say it's "fun"...

So I just stumbled upon the Hagstrom HB-4. 30.7" scale, knobs are master volume / tone / 6 way rotary pick up selector (neck, bridge, both - single and humbucking). Seems they go for $450-$550 new. Want.

Also, the Reverand Dub King. More expensive, but ya know. I played one of their full scale basses in a shop one time with that split poll pickup and didn't really dig it, but I also didn't get to crank it so it might have been throwing out ridiculous lows. Still looks pretty interesting.

I got a Mustang last week and it is easily my favorite bass I've ever played. Plays like a champ and sounds great with fuzz and drive.

A couple of years back there was a 70's Lefty Music master bass for very cheap locally and I was on the fence about it... I really should have got it. I hate thinking about it.

This dude is at my local GC. Looks bad-ass but the hardware is all ganked up and the pickup is pure mud clean, didn't get to try it with drive.
( & now that I'm looking at it more I want it again  )
