The Behringer is actually a clone of the Boss SYB-5, not the Digitech. Although I've directly A/B'd the Boss against the Behringer, and found the Behringer superior.

I think the best way to find the right tools, it's sitting down and think all the synth (types) tones you want to achieve (bleeps-blops, string swells type, square/sine/saw leads, bass synth, etc). Then understand the core of a synth (Oscillator + Filter + VCA/Mixer). As you said you want the classic moog sound, so at least you'll need the moog lpf filter (the iron ether is also super awesome) or at least a lpf filter with resonance control (and envelope or manual control, better if it has cv). For the oscillator you can go with some sort of square wave fuzz (limited) or something with a vco/octaver* or you can go an intelligent harmonizer + square wave fuzz (it will give the option to go into different intervals, and will adjust the trk to the key you have set). For also vco you can use a ring mod, vco fuzz, oscillating fuzz. For the lead tones i love to use a modulated delay with a square wave octave mixed with some fundamental it gives a huge sound, add a volume pedal after the fuzz for the dynamics, and you're ready to go. Want to get the sequenced type of tones, set a square wave trem with the depth around (40%-100%) with a square wave fuzz in front, play your bass line and you're almost there, if you need some more boom add a short delay with 2 repeats . Need the string swell work on your timing and do swells into a delay, loop it, and start building

Need more fun, then start going into a modular type pedalboard with CV/exp compatible pedals, LFO, attenuators, run your signal in parallel, start adding different and more stuff

*As you mention you want something with good tracking, you have to understand, that trk is mostly technique, if you play guitar or bass, the first thing with trackers is that you lose the dynamics (you need to keep a constant level, playing softly wont mean it will provide a lower volume tracked of what you play, just less info for the tracker to work so it will output whatever is close to the info it received or playing very intense it saturates the harmonic info not giving a lot of definition of the fundamental note), that's why most modular synth rigs have a couple of vca/envelopes to restore the dynamics, so if dynamics are important in your style of playing, think about a way of integrating a compressor/expander, volume pedal. Also the way your technique from going one note to the other (sliding the notes, going from one chord to another, etc) because the tracker receives all that info

Mini's another interesting option for sure. Didn't tickle my ear the same way the Moog does when I had it though. Oscillator sounded too digital or too harsh or something.
