Jrmy, I might just have to make one in a wah shell ;)

I guess I'm the weirdo, but I really don't get why the old ones are considered to be so much better. The new ones have so much more versatility and options, and I don't there's much difference in sound, except that the new ones are less noisy. I guess the DMB is a tiny smidge cleaner in the repeats, but definitely not digital clean. :idk:

DMB cleaner? That's funny, I found them to be way dirty and dark. Not in a bad way, although I could never find the right mix between clean and repeats... anywho.

Well, I could be totally wrong, I didn't A/B them. I played the old big box DMM years ago, so I'm comparing the DMB to my memory of the DMM. But I remember the DMM being really dirty and smeared, and the DMB is a little crisper to my ears than what I remember the DMM sounding like. :idk:

Regardless, either way, I just love some of the crazy options on the DMB. From now on, I'll never be able to be happy with a delay that doesn't have expression control of feedback.

Yeah I found the DMB to be a little more dark (not really a bad thing in my case), but a little harder to mix- it seems like the blend knob on the DMB could use a switch so that the blend isn't so bunched up. But the other options that the DMB had were awesome, and made me not really mind the mix issues in my case

I hate to be this guy, but I have a DM-2 and a big box DMM on my board for a reason.
They both seriously sound amazing.

The DMM is the fattest delay I've ever played for sure. I payed $325 when I bought mine from my friend, but mine is the first of the reissues with the pointy knobs and 3005 chips.
I would pay that again if it got stolen in a heartbeat. I took it off my board for one practice, and my bassist got noticeably upset. It just sounds that cool.

If you're looking for something cheaper, the Earthquaker Devices Disaster Transport is a pretty amazing delay. That's what I was using before, and I probably never would have upgraded if my friend didn't sell his DMM.
Delay is worth spending money on imo.

The Disaster Transport Jr is currently my only delay, and I love it like nothing else for the combination of tinyness, sound and tweakability (tone knob ). Sounds more like the tape echo I had than most BBD delays, which isn't a bad thing at all, I love that sound, it's just different. I really miss the DMM for how ridiculously fat and warm it was though; even if it had a stupid mix control and was the size of 4 or 5 normal pedals, there's just something special about the sound, and the modulation is amazing. That said, I haven't tried any 'boutique' analogue delays so maybe they capture the magic. :idk: I'd definitely like something smaller that has that sound, if it exists.

If you could have the wah treadle control feedback instead of delay time, I'd buy one :poke:

It has most of the toanz of my old copicat with none of the hugeness, tape hassles and motor noise! Gotta love that. Just need something that does the same for the DMM...
