But there is a point in looking at pumping/attenuating certain frequencies. The ear doesn't hear in a linear fashion, both with regards to frequency and volume. That's why a metal muff sounds rad at home and spiteful in the rehearsal room - all of that extra chunk that fills out the bedroom sound mushes the shit out of the "real sound", both because of psychoacoustic effects and also the cabinet itself coming into play in a more prominent fashion. As long as the volume doesn't get silly I can't see a prob with accentuating normally annoying frequencies (guess: 100-150 hz), perhaps somewhere in the low mids as well (400 ish)? Colour me intrigued with the ported possibilities.

Not a lot of progress, but gearing up to do all the different building tasks related to building this thing. next up is a new soldering iron, I think, and a circular saw.

spent today reading Electronic Projects for Musicians.. I have a lot more electronics knowledge than most musicians, but it comes from an engineering/CS background and not an analog audio background, so it's good to read this book :thumb:

General Guitar has most (all?) of the projects updated with easier to find ICs. :)

I don't know that there's any projects so far that I'd build, but it's interesting so far. :idk:

Yeah, I really like it. Simple yet fairly good at explaining what's going on.
