I believe it's more "my perception of high gain is flawed"

Try a regular Musket maybe? I dunno. I'm all superfuzz these days and I've effectively forgotten all muff advice I've once had.

Did you fiddle with the switchies? There is one labeled lo/hi-gain.

Yeah, hi-gain was like...not that high gain.

I agree, it wasn't as saturated or as aggressive as I would have liked, lacked balls to my ears :idk:

Now the LSTR on the other hand sounds dope as fuck :thumb:

Man, sometimes I just wanna have the most awesome, biggest fuzz. You know? That's what I'm asking for, here. Also, for reference, I don't exactly have a DOOMZ rig, and I'm not going to optimize for that, so this thing has to bring the heavy when required on a regularly tame rig.

Have you tried stacking stuff that you already have?
I'm thinking Fuck>AB-Synth or AB-Synth>Fuck would be pretty heavy.

Not quite the Muff sound I'm after.

Ah, after reading this, I thought you were just asking for the most awesome, biggest fuzz. You know? :idk:

Yeah. To be fair, a Muff may not be the biggest, baddest fuzz that I was talking about. there's always bigger, heavier. But I guess I'm going after that Muff sound, you know? With maybe the addition of having more mids than the scooped Muffs tend to have. Hence the start of this thread.

Welp, these are the biggest muffs I've cum across:

ECT
Baby Thundaaaaa
Blue Beard
Grey Stache
Supercollider
Musket
LSTR

And to bring this thread back to the head,

Blunderbuss > Musket?

Blunderbuss > Box of War seems to have been determined.

Blunderbuss is louder.

Musket is smoother.

Baby Thundaa and Bluebeard have the most amount of mids of any muff I've ever tried, while still being very "muffy".
Both are very nice in a mix.

The Huger/Great Wall circuit from Fuzzhugger gets you into awesome, big fuzz territory for sure :thumb:

I find muffs aren't really doing it for me these days.
Finding they're not as huge as I once thought.

nonplussed at your lack of Muff faith.
