Wot, you want that to go with your Tokai flanger?
Yesh, I want a buncha Tokais so I can have one big 80's solo circle-jerk.

And don't even get me started on that stereo chorus...

Simple delay for texture sounds like a Montavillian Echo to me.

Dude. 616 and a DD7. everything you'd ever need in delay easy to use and cheap to have. just set the 616 to a nice textural delay (what it excels at) and use the DD7 as your standard. That was my setup for the longest time and it worked great.

MF Rogue thing doesn't self oscilate generally but does the cheap analog thing alright. I had a $29 special one for a bit before giving it to a friend who didn't have 12 other delays.
They put them on sale all the time.
Also in the 'simple knob' but wierd category, Akai Headrush is an overlooked no preset delay unit, does the multihead thing very well, even if you never touch the looper and they're $100 or less if you're patient.

ad-9 pro kicks ass. i like that the delay signal stands out a bit more than the ad-9, but both still has awesome decay. very balanced sound. edit: but the ibanez ri ad-9, which i got before both of the maxons, sounded poor to me and i ended up returning it. that one not recommended.
carbon copy mod was cool but the delay sounded "thumpy" as other people have said. not desirable to me
ad-80 (original) is the only other delay i could want.

I know I am late to the party but find an Ibanez DL10 it does not self oscilate but it sounds so flipping good
cmatmods deelay is really good and not that expensive new
and the subdecay echobox will never leave my board
The biggest difference to my knowledge between the ibanez and maxon is that the maxon is true bypass
they both have a slight volume drop depending on your setup and both sound very good

I read that the Maxon used different BBD chips too. Analogman has some crazy page explaining all the differences
I wouldn't mind having a buffer in my Maxon since its at the end of the chain anyways, but the bypass signal is good so whateva
Sherman yeah the AD9 Pro is super amazing. I haven't tried the normal AD-9 models but my AD-9 Pro is pretty much analog delay as perfect as it can be. But I might just have the whole "I use it so it's the best" syndrome.

I had an AD-9 for a while, and I remember the self oscillation was awesome on it.
I've got a DM-2 now and I think it sounds a lot better though.

FWIW I'm pretty sure the Rogue isn't actually analog. The Rogue pedal line isn't bad, though; I have the trem, and it's perfectly serviceable. At first it was super noisy but then I took the battery out and it was fine.

I just got an e-mail from a local guy trying to find and analog delay, maybe I can convert him to ILF through your AD9!
