I voted for analog synth.
Ric seems just out of reach.

Ric. No question. Think of it as an investment if it helps justify the price, but get the Ric.

Modular :) You could build the equivalent of an MS-10 in modular form. Good for synth bass or running an e. bass through.

Think, every couple of days you could GAS for a new module because there are a lot that are as cheap or cheaper than pedals...

Like Amos Gaines said we are in the BEST time in History to be using Modular Synths because the Tech is cheap and there are a ton of makers supporting the various formats...

MODULAR MODULAR MODULAR...

Mostly because I know this will be true...

Fuggit. I went with modular synth.

Mostly because those can get batshit insane, and I wanna see what kind of crazy you make with one.

I voted Modular Synth.

I think it will be a lot more fun as a project and once the bass is bought that's it...you have a new bass.
I have an L2000 and know your L2500 is all the bass you need. Ric's look cool but I'd take the G&L Toanz
over a Ric any day.

....You know, if YOu have always wanted a Ric, it WILL make You very happy. Plays good, sounds great... even if You are happy with Your instruments.

Analog synth! They sound beauts all the time. If not that, then the pedal board. Pedals are always real fun and if you have some basses already, then you're set!

I voted "modular", but Bassus has a good point here and I can confirm from experience (in my case it was a TR-909).

I gotta admit, I love the way early analog synths look; patch cables everywhere, flashing lights, knobs and junk for days, stuff piled on other stuff...these things look like SERIOUS business. Now, they mostly all look like a Casio keyboard from Target.
