My main guitar is a Fender 72 tele reissue and it's fucking bomb proof. Had it for about 5 years and hasn't given me a single problem. I use that along with a shitty tele copy I have sitting at home with a seymour duncan in the neck. The only reason I have the second one is if I snap a string on my main guitar during a gig. I don't think I can see myself buying another one anytime soon. Unless I see some ridiculously good deal or something.

Gimme some advice here on these things. I've never looked at them or even really considered them. So you mean you get like new strap pegs to install in the guitar? So you take the old ones out and put in the new ones, correct? And then can you use any strap or are there like specific straps with locks on them.

I seriously have no idea; I have, however, damaged quite a few guitars after they've slipped from my straps. Geez.

I've used the Dunlop Dual Design since my Am. Std. Strat experienced a little spot of concentrated gravity back in high school. It took a dive into a concrete floor in a below-freezing garage, cracking off the paint down to the wood, and leaving a half-dollar sized spider web in the finish.

They're really easy. You unscrew your old strap buttons, and screw the new ones in with the screws provided. The screws should fit, but if they do not, you might have to drill, making sure to use the right size drill bit. The new buttons look pretty much stock, and accept regular straps.

Then, you mount the metal strap snaps onto your strap. Stick on a washer, stick the piece through the strap hole, stick the other piece over the first piece, and use a pair of pliers to snap a c-clip into place.

From there, you can take the strap off and on with the press of a button. That way, you can use the same strap with multiple guitars. All you have to do is put the new buttons on each guitar. Unfortunately, I am yet to see a place that sells just the buttons. If you see one, let me know... otherwise, I have to buy like 8 sets of strap locks.

The one thing about strap locks that might be slightly annoying is that the new button assembly is probably about an inch long when there is a strap in it. It makes the guitar look and feel a bit different. You get over it really fast when you get used to not having to keep a hand on your instrument at all times.

Those Grolsch washers go between your strap and your peg. It basically prevents any slippage by being larger than the strap's hole (there's no way to word that without it sounding like a euphemism). If you want to see an example of a band using them, check out Wilco's guitars.
