He charges a pretty penny for these things. Yet still can't afford a run?!
Seems like a money management issue.
That's how understand this sentence

either way it's moot. i doubt he's going to be interested.
At least you are offering him a deal that is mutually beneficial and if he tries to bring out a different version that cuts you off at the knees you can just taper off.

Am I the only one who forgot what the teaspoon was until this thread popped up? I think it's been three years since I've been on the site, but once I clicked the link I got it.
Anywho, this auction deal sounds desperate and one sided. Should've made a kickstarter?

kickstarter for what exactly though?
i ran out of money and need more to finish a project that i've already taken preorders for? doesn't make any sense...
i get the impression, from the earlier save tsp thread where steven was basically asking people for donations, that he has some deeper issues than simple money management...

If SS/BS got the rights.... I'd be super stoked. I'm sure you'd sell a ton Brian.

Soooo, kinda playing devil's advocate... how would cloning the Teaspoon and selling it as a Teaspoon clone be any different from cloning and selling the Klon? Both have been out of production for a while and both are still being made in variants or are planned to be made in variants by the original builder in the future, no? And no one seems to be at all upset by Klon clones. It would be perfectly legal under IP law as well, since he only has rights to the artwork under copyright laws (and he's not including that in the sale) and to the name via trademark, which is the only thing of any real economic value being sold here.

TeaspoonCAS | Production Rights
http://www.thesquarewaveparade.com/TeaspoonCAS-PR.htm
let me start by thanking those of you who donated. i am forever grateful. though it was not enough to fund a run of ETHR's. so i find myself in a tough position... i'm selling the rights to the TeaspoonCAS, using a silent auction
the first few units i sold brought in over $600 each when i auctioned them off. then i charged $375 for the rest and they flew off the shelf. i still get emails asking for the CAS sometimes two and three times a week
i'd like to start the bidding at $9,000.00. please feel free to make an offer higher or lower then that. highest bid wins so enter your best. along with the main payment there is a royalty of 5% of the profit for one year, starting on your release date
the profits from your first 30 units should cover the main bid, depending on what you charge per unit
- if you would like to place a bid simply email: closeyoureyes AT la-ac.com :with your highest offer
auction start: 12/02/2013 - auction end: 12/11/2013 7:00pm central time
what you will receive: one breadboarded circuit, parts list and one printed schematic. the circuit bends and other options are not in the breadboard but they are on the printed schematic. you also gain the repair rights for anyone with an original TeaspoonCAS and you can charge what you want
payment can be made with a check or money order. after it clears i will send your purchase. i would like to receive payment within one week of auction end
so... tell your friends, tell your family, this sort of opportunity doesn't happen often. use this to start a new business or revive an old one
i really hope that this doesn't put me out of business
love,
steven
