If you are looking for a warm tone, maybe don't get you mind set on Fender, to me they mostly sound more cutting and on the high side than warm. But they do come in all sizes and varieties and I have only tried pretty few. That said, I dearly love my Roost, which is a little bit similar to a Hiwatt. You might want to check those out before settling on something else. Maybe something a little more to the Marshall side?

C'mon, a little bit of joking has to be allowed.
I like my Jazzmasters through my Divided, the Bugera 1960 (=Plexi), London City, Tweed Deluxe.
But i also would second the Deluxe Reverb thought. Sounds pretty good to my ears.

I play 2 jags and a Jazzmaster through my Hotrod 4X10 It's pretty much loud band volume at 2 so that may be a little hot for a solo project unless, of course a wall of sound is appealing. My fuck OD loves pretty much any fender amp. With your gain in the 9-12:00 o'clock range you get a nice clear "takes the blanket off the amp" kind of sound. and if the amp isn't warm enough you can adjust it with the high cut on the Fuck. Pretty much Jazzmaster----> Fuck OD---- Fender Tube amp will be perfect for your general sound. That said I'm still itching to try out the Excelsior. It might not be sparkly clean in a band setting but since you're mostly solo it might be perfect for you.

two of my bandmates have an ac15 and an ac30, both of which i have played through and prefer a fuller tone to the vox chime.

an 80... that seems a little hight to me but I live on the west coast... what condition is it in? [really look at the tubes, LOOK at the speaker] You really need to turn it up all the way in the store and abuse the thing even for a few minutes, because some combos get stuff like lose connections and rattles that you only find out about after turning up or having the amp bounced about.

Try and buy an older one that's point to point wiring not the newer ones with circuit boards. It might cost alittle more but you will def be saving more and be happier with it in the long run. Just make sure a good tech looks it over once you purchase it.

deluxe reverbs, especially vintage, can be a little pricey... 60s blackfaces in the $1500-$2000 range, 70s-80 silverfaces in the $700-$900 range, reissues in the $500-$700 range. I got my reissue for $400 but it needed a lot of work. on the other hand, I got my ampeg superjet in mint condition off craigslist for $275.
if you want to hear an ampeg superjet, listen to noveller's latest album, glacial glow
http://noveller.bandcamp.com/track/glacial-waveshe's also from NY, and I heard she switched to a bass amp, so maybe you can get her superjet if she hasn't sold it already

Jets rock, I've had a little 15 watt Jet with term forever! and I still love that amp.

I had hopes for them when they first came out actually... The pods were ok but the amps... just were meh live.. I mean like a pod through the pa worked better then the amps... every now and then I try a new one to see if they have gotten any better.. and so far

I am not so pro tube/analog because I fear/dislike digital.. but I think what ever most big builders are doing with in the hardwear area just falls under do'n it wrong.

In a few years late but I just heard your music and really like it. I lived in Albany for 4 years and it captures the feels for that time perfectly
