Ok so this pedal basically sucks.

I bought this expecting a Klon-like transparent overdrive which would somehow manage to make my SRV licks sparkle and cut through the mix. My band Legal Representation recently got a gig in a nice classy wine bar in town and I need a pedal that will enhance my blues chops and grab peoples attention. Apparently my tasty blues licks aren't enough! I've tried so many pedals at this stage, from Dave Cornish to Freekish Blues but none were transparent or Dumble-esque enough for me. I had heard good things about this pedal but they were wrong, oh so wrong.

Instead of a transparent overdrive I was deafened by a fuzz tone which sounded somewhat like a more snarly Big Muff. The sound literally explodes out of the amplifier. I thought I had blown my DR. Z for sure!! The sound was sooo distorted I though I may have a damaged lead plugged in. I was using a cheap $30 lead so I figured it may be that. I swapped it for one of my regular $100 directional cables but alas, nothing but a loud mix between fuzz and distortion. Sure, the pedal could handle plenty of low end and managed to appoximate the end of the world, even at low volumes, but it sure as hell wasn't Klon-like whatsoever!

In an effort to play at a volume acceptable to my trophy wife I turned the knob down on it and tried to play the guitar extra soft, but all I got were sounds reminiscent of of my old Sega and Nintendo consoles. Weird cackly decaying notes. Quite different to the never ending fuzz and sustain it was ramming down my throat with the volume turned up. Why anyone would want a pedal with two completely different sounds is beyond me.

In short anyone looking for a creamy blues tones should definitely look elsewhere! For those of you into sacrilegious "music" like the Black Sabbath or bands which seem to thrive on encouraging illegal activities like Weedeater, maybe it will be the pedal you need annoy your hard working neighbours while your parents are out of town.

For me, I'm glad it only cost as much as a desert in my favourite restaurant.

Aw sorry for causing you any upset dude :)

Seriously, that is one fucking kick ass pedal!!! It's a weird mix of everything. Kinda smooth like a Muff, but more rough around the edges. Fuzzed up, yet there's clarity in there. Amazing sustain but also capable of crunchy static-like decay when playing really softly. For such a small pedal it sounds pretty fucking huge! Seriously impressed.

And it cost sweet fuck all too. Peeps should be all over this!
