These things sound really nice - hanging out for some reports from the early takers.

My report is buy one (a Tyrant, that is). :poke: Or if you're handy, build a meathead clone yourself.

You're a bad influence, MD. I am a little worried about the lack of any tone control - I've never owned a one knob anything and I'm not really in to Kyuss-like woolly fuzz. I would build one, but I'm a hack, and I don't have much time these days to practise soldering and shit.

It's really not that woolly, not with my setup anyway :) it's actually sharper sounding than the usable fuzz settings on my Fix'D Fuzz

so heavy, perfect for palm muting as well

Yeah, Meatheads are usually not woolly at all, they're just awfully heavy and grainy on the top like a breaking amp.

And this one sounds really good to me, also - the pricing is very affordable.

Oh, mine is woolwoolwool, but that Kyuss shit is exactly what I bought it for. Super great and sharp on bass though, and with a boost in front on guitar it gets reeeeaaally nice and bright.

Probably a rig/guitar dependent thing, though most stuff is bright with a jaguar and this isn't (but in a good way).

important note... it's VERY sensitive to chain placement

VERY sizzly earlier in the chain, more solid when put towards the end... also it changes the volume

EXPERIMENT

it also sounds fucking amazing boosted by Fuck OD... but what doesn't

Ah, that might be it. I have mine after a bunch of stuff, even if it is all true bypass it probably changes things. I'll try it out at the front sometime, but I actually really like the thick woolly tone I'm getting atm. Boosted by a sparkle motion it's the tits, but again what isn't.

Ok, if it palm mutes colour me intrigued. Does it sound ok with a buffer before it? I hate dealing with finicky pedals.. Monkey, Axel - do either of you have the possibility of checking? Fuck, I'm fucking broke anyway, maybe it's good if you don't check. I'm going to stop looking at this thread.

Dicks.

I can now confirm that it sounds brighter if it's the first pedal in the chain, but still really thick. After a buffer it still sounds really good BUT there's a lot of extra noise introduced. Not that it's the quietest pedal ever anyway, seeing as it's just massive gain.

Yeah, i have it after buffer now and i like it more... less harsh top end i'd say. it has its charms both ways though :)
