My dream delay is the Moog MF-104Z though. The El Capistan just covers looping ground too.

i'm self-oscillating on the delay...the RV-3 is simple, bulletproof, and does reverb as well, but it's also limited. however, i'm really not in love with any of the boutique delays like the El Capistan. i like the Flashback a lot, but i wish it was more tweakable; it really doesn't have much in the way of controls at all. i should mess around with the delay functions on the Head Rush more.

i might really fall in love with it if i had one around the house and got to find my own arcane settings, but the ones i see on the demos make me say "yeah, it's interesting, but it's not that many dollars worth of interesting." i think part of the problem is that Strymon's demos are so unimaginative...they basically do "and HERE'S a tape machine that's REALLY in need of maintenance" rather than demonstrating creative ways to USE the fucking thing, and i'm like "(sarcasm) ooh! that head sounds really dirty!"

Haha c'mon man it's a demo not an album or something.
I know for sure if you played with one you'd fucking love it. Given your influences/interests, it's pretty much impossible for you not to.
