You could always try playing with a lighter slide.

It's not quite the same, but the higher your gain the less it'll matter.

i'm starting to move away from pretty overdriven sounds and loving fuzz-type overdrives quite a bit... devi ever's stuff mainly, but i'd like to try a colorsound overdriver clone at some point...
