The footswitch is a master bypass for the whole pedal....seemed to make more sense for stereo users, ease of use, and all that. Individual switching, when desired, will be handled with external controllers through that DIN port on the top.

I notice there's no manual rate for the speed. Can you still control it with exp. pedal? Sorry if this has been said im just tired

Manual's on the Shape switch this time.
The Rate knob (or CV) sweeps it when set there, just like on the Faye Sing.
