and i have much love back your way....
i have no problem with the performance of his amps and i'm sure he's doing his own thing but my dealing with him have been horrible to the point that i actually HAVE to complain about it.
you'll notice i very seldom say negative things about gear or the people that build them but he's such a dick that i'm offended by him even breathing air. if i hadn't had to deal with him i'd be raving about them but unfortunately it's not that way.
still though (the ones i've used) remind me of a really good marshall. ...but i stopped giving him the time of day several years ago....so i'm not up on his offerings.
and let it be understood: i think they are awesome sounding amps.

now goodsell....those guys are making great amps too and are terrific people. that's the problem..there are so many very fine amps out there so i'm not about to give my money to a jerk.
besides...i don't really need to buy another amp for the rest of my life. why i even try new ones is beyond me.

Ok, thanks man.
You are right. I'm right now in the decision of getting another divided. But probably i will go another route (as i do not want a second JRT).

there's one here locally that has a Celestion 10" that sounds super radd.
DRRI isn't quite the thing, anyway - too close to my Vibrolux, but not nearly as radd.

PRRI are great amps, you wont be disappointed! (though a tad bigger and heavier/less cute than the swarts)

yeah, and I'm actually second guessing myself now.
not because of the less cute, but more the bigger/heavier thing.
and really, no matter what, even a 5 watt tube amp is going to be too loud for a hotel room.
maybe the PRRI and Mustang I...still cheaper than the Swart.

the real thing holding me back from the Swart is that I primarily play clean these days...not sure how pretty the cleans would be on a 5 watt amp with an 8" speaker.

Hotel room. :wha?:
In this situation I'm using my Yamaha DG-Stomp with headphone.

Not as good as a tube amp, but it' doing the job for practice.

ha, yeah, I'm leaning toward just buying a Fender Mustang I for the trip, and then buying the PRRI or equivalent.

Yeah, that's why I suggested the Carr Raleigh or talking to John Lyons.

yeah, I didn't want to spend Carr money, as it were, but I'm looking at it now. wish it had reverb for $135. and no time to wait on someone to build me an amp.

well, bonus check is going to my head...think I'm about to buy a REALLY nice amp.

http://magicamps.com/VibroPrince.cfm

getting it used for a couple hundred less than new, supposedly mint, courtesty outlet, all that shit. thank you, tone dentists!

Vibro Prince it is! ha, might trade my DRRI for a Squier Classic Vibe Strat and a Mustang I...

I actually use my Swart for cleans/verge of breakup and it sounds great
But you're right in thinking that 5 watts is too loud for a hotel room
its a waste playing any tube amp before the point of compression/sweetness/tubes wake up/whatever you want to call it
