I wish this happened when I still lived in Austin. Not getting back any time soon, I'm afraid.

(Anyone remember that Mudhoney song, "Overblown"? That's how I felt about Austin the last few years I lived there. It's great until it's not anymore.)

Austin was great when I lived in dinky Abilene, and would come to visit for SXSW, etc. Now that I live here, Austin is just...well Austin.

Some cool bands added to the lineup, btw - Meat Puppets, THEE OH SEES (stoked!), Golden Dawn, The Paperhead (really like their records), Mind Spiders (ditto), Entrance Band, and lots more.

but mainly - WOODEN SHJIPS! MOON DUO! DISAPPEARS! OLIVIA TREMOR CONTROL! that's all I really needed. Thee Oh Sees should be a hell of a lot of fun, too. I've been a fan of that dude since Coachwhips.
