I have one of those too. Why do you say it sounded like shit? I felt like it was only slightly darker sounding than my other AVRI Jazzmaster. The sound difference is pretty much unnoticeable. Buy a good amp or an ear wax removal kit. One of the two is probably your problem.

This one looks pretty fucking swell imo. I have the Pawnshop Mustang though so I diverge from the pack using HBs in a Fender. Those shits are coil tapped though, sound great in either mode, crazy switching. I love that little Mustang so much more than I'd imagined.

My only qualm was the pickups. They were both just workhorse as shit. Nothing unique about them. Other than that, I like the guitar. It always pulls through when I need it to.

I'm glad they didn't reissue the jag-stang because it's IMHO one of the worst looking fenders ever...

I'd rock that blue one all day. That's my favorite color combo on stangs other than black on black on black on black.

Agree wholeheartedly with this entire post!

As for the Jag-Stang, it doesn't really resemble either guitar in a good way. An offset mash-up could go much better imo. Cobain drew that shit up though so I guess I should blame him, not Fender, this time at least...

I'm not an idiot at Guitar Center trying out guitars through Line 6 Spiders. I just think the J Mascis JM sounded like shit, even if it was just the one that I played.
