I just ordered two Lollar Regals, a new pickup switch and some shielded wiring to go in my Deluxe.
Since I bought it, it always sounded just ok. I did replace the pots with 500k pots which helped out a lot. I also
shielded the cavity and that seemed to help with some noise issues. Now that I have a little extra cash to put into
this thing, I really want to get the most out of it. It has never been professionally setup, so once I install the switch, lollars,
get a good full setup, this thing should sound really fucking good.
I have been gasin' for a black 78 musicmaster but decided to just make the deluxe better. The only thing that I haven't been able to
find info for is what pot value works well with the lollars. Their soundfile of the regals is with 250k pots and sounds pretty good so
maybe I'll change back.
Anyways, in a couple of weeks I will be able to report back.
Cheers

Re: 72RI Tele Deluxe Re-wire project. Phase 1 Get the Guita
I swapped out my stock Fender wide range pu's with the lollar regals.
Gotta recheck the wiring as the neck pickup is not sounding too good.
The bridge pickup sounds fucking amazing now, though. The guitar sounds amazing

Upgraded the Tuners recently on my Tele.
Before.

After.

Went with Tone Pro Klusons. I like the button style tuners over the stock hex tuners. The detail is more accurate to the OG Deluxes and they are better units with a smoother action and a tight ratio.
