I love it, I am going to do some better shots of the neck but when I bought it from BassNW almost 2 years ago, the store owner said it was a NAMM one off for a now discontinued color.

I have only seen 4 like it.

Every site is extremely fucking vague and fails to mention whether its tribute or american series. Is there a big differencer? I just see one asat thats 1500 and another thats 600, they both just say asat speciak... WTF
I'm guessing its different series, but wuut?

I love My L-2000 (Black Jesus)the old preamp with MFD's is already OD and will clip inputs on most pedals and pre's

I made this "SB-3000" out of an old style SB-2 (J-J) that had been routed for alembic HBs
And I routed it for a P-HB but settled on the P-P as more agro and the series parallel switch has been changed so that all four coils are run in series.

It had a horrible PVC paintjob and when I decided to strip it to the wood I dd t think there would be a flamey "church bass" underneath but whatever my brother in law sprayed it with satin nitro and I'm sure I'll find a way to make it uglier.

Gawd, I would love to have a nice L-2500. Or a 1500. Or a 1000. Or a 2000. Uhhhh. I want a G&L something fierce.

I love the bluntness of that SB
"what a purty top you got thar" and suddenly there's just a fucking metal plate. That is awesome.

I've noticed that too, lots of listings don't differentiate between the U.S. and Tribute models. The Tributes are made in Indonesia or Korea I think, I've played a couple and they were nice, but not as nice as the American made ones. As I recall the Tribute models don't have many options, whereas with the American models you can really customize your guitar, lots of neck options for example. If you see a listing for a new G&l and it's $600 or so it`s definitely a Tribute (but you can get some great deals on used American G&Ls).

the only problem is USA ASATs are mad expensive here in europe and the Tribute series... well... don't know about that :( seems a bit... non-trustworthy?
