oh- and heroes would probably my favorite song...

It's the only one I've never played so I'd have to put a little more work in. Finding the right adjustments to make it mine. But it's probably the one I'd be going for too.

oh, this will be fun! definitely "Beauty and the Beast." i'm also going to play everything myself, and i'm going to program double drummers in the GD/Allman Brothers style. this will be a chance to really exploit the drum sample pack add-ons to GarageBand. and with the DiscumBOBulator i'll be able to get all kinds of great auto-wah stuff going on. this should be a hoot and a half. if my friend Dan gets here in time, i'll get him to do some crazy violin.

AWESOME. Garageband has some cool drum stuff, I'm looking forward to hearing Beauty and the Beast in a different style.

IN! Me and this girl are starting up a chello/synth project and some Bowie covers would be perfect for what we're plan on doing. I'll check back in when we decide on a song.

as i suspected, the loops in GB aren't going to work and i'll have to write the drums from scratch, but that's not really a problem...i actually really like programming drums, my brain's fucked up that way.

I used to hate it with a passion, but then I got addictive drums and I love it because they actually sound good now.

I used to spend hours programming an Alesis HR-16 with that tiny display like an SPX90. Jesus, that thing...if it wasn't for all the weed i'd surely have glaucoma by now from the time i spent squinting at that thing through my spectacles.

I really need addictive drums. It seems torrent proof however...

At this point i might just eschew drums and don some black robes or something and attack All The Madmen accordingly... :idk:

Heroes is the most covered bowie song in the world. knock it outta the park if ya do it! =]

also, everyone covers the half-assed live version that bowie did in the 80s and not the grandiose studio version. so if you can capture that epic feeling in someway that would be awesome.

We'll see. I can't see it going anywhere in the same territory as Bowie though.

i don't have the self-confidence for "God Knows I'm Good." i seriously considered doing "Karma Man" for about fifteen seconds, though.

that's the thing...there's so damn many songs to choose from that would be fun to adapt. i would love to do "Queen Bitch," "Freecloud" (which would make a GREAT 'gaze tune), "TVC15"...
