The SMMwH does that in multitap mode, which lets you choose whether repeats get louder, quieter or stay the same.

The echolution only reverses the repeats. And you can have 6 multitaps going at once.

That's sounds cool on the SMMwH though. Can you really set it so the repeats stay at the same volume and then just cut out?

Yeah, it's so awesome! Setting the repeats to get louder does amazing swells if you turn the mix up too.

I was hoping for a cheaper option, but I guess that's going on the tail end of my GAS list now. Thanks for the help!

Never tried the Echolution, how is the looper function?

I don't know.

It's like the looper on the PDS delays where it just loops for the delay time you have set. Good for noises, not so much for actual loops. And it's on a toggle, so it's a pain to even turn on.

You can kinda hear it in this demo but The time bender has the reverse trail latched to a gate so when you play it resets keeping your signal from a lot of those weird reverse delay pops that most others give you. basicaly it starts recording new delays when you strum so you're almost always in sync with the delay :)

**Edit found a good example of how the digitech does reverse (also this is not the full reverse only setting but that is available on these pedals if you max the mix knob)**
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nt0t4kPHWzo&t=4m54s Hit this link to go straight to the Reverse part of the demo. you can hear how the DD-20 is really choppy in comparison since it doesn't follow your playing.

if you want to make weird noises you don't need a delay you need this thing

I've been using the DD-6 for all my reverse delay needs. Although I've been messing with some use of regular digital delay, reverse is usually all I really use it for. My main problem that I'm trying to fix in the reverse world, is trying to find a reverse delay that allows me to wash out the repeats with the time knob, sort of like when you twist the time knob on an analog delay with high feedback. I play in another band where the only equipment I use is a Boss ME-50, and the reverse mode on this unit allows you to do crazy washouts and such in the reverse mode, it almost sounds like an "analog reverse" or a tape echo in reverse. Anybody know of any stompbox digi delays that do this with the reverse?

You can't use the echolution as a conventional looper. You can, however, make absurdly badass noises by having a loop on and toggling the taps on and off.

^ lol I'd actually recommend the SMMH for that too. It does multitap delay swell thingys (edit: oops I was reading page 2 and replied before I saw page 3)

this thread is just reminding me that I shouldn't have sold my SMMH.

As for the arm comments, you guys are just jealous of my ambient nub slapping toanz.

Yeah it totally sounds like some menos el oso when you do that. Skipping cd delay.

The Boss DD-5 does this. I use reverse alot on that pedal and love to max the repeats and just tweak the shit out of the time knob. I can play it like a theremin. The negative (for some) regarding the reverse on the DD-5 is that you can't do the reverse sound only, you will always hear the dry signal. I think Analog Man can fix that and put an expression jack but I like it how it is. I didn't realize that the DD-6 couldn't do it. For wet-only reverse, I use the M9.

Really? That is weird that the DD-6 can't do this then. I remember reading on another forum someone had mentioned that the DD-7 can do this also, so I assumed it was a new addition, wonder why the DD-6 was left out. Still debating whether I could go without wet-only repeats. Has anyone on here tried the Muza FD900 pedal? Seems really interesting. Anyone know if that pedal can do wet-only repeats?

Delay is one place where I don't mind digital AT ALL ~ the Nova repeater was so good, I actually switched to the Nova Delay, ( so I could preset and toggle easily)
I soberly recommend both products!
And the tap tempo is incredible on both~
