Lou reed should be forced to relinquish all rights to all velvet underground songs. He hasn't made a recording since 1969 that has interested me in the slightest. This is sad considering that VU are basically my favorite band of all time.
Sometimes I wonder how he ever managed to do anything worthwhile.

You don't like Transformer or Rock & Roll Animal?

Anyone hear them do White Light/White Heat with Hetfield on backing vox? Strange.
...I'm gonna have to admit that the Trainspotting scene posted earlier kinda ruined Transformer for me...

I would recommend getting into John Cale's solo work if you haven't. His shit rules.

I'll give you transformer, its an ok album, though I do think that the version of sattelite of love on transformer pales in comparison to the original VU version.
Rock and roll animal I do not like. It's just him re hashing a bunch of great velvet underground songs with some other band. Are they a better band? Almost definitely, from a technical standpoint, but they can't play VU like VU.

I would think that Metal Machine Music would be a big hit here. That has got to be a definitive noise album, am I right? He claims there's music in it somewhere...

Fuck Lou Reed.
Fuck Metallica.
If they had proper jobs and kept putting in work like this, they'd have been fired.
John Cale remains fairly awesome.

Well brother, do yourself a favour and actively avoid the Lou Reed rendition where the cellist takes an 8 minute solo to try to make up for the shambles he makes of a legitimately wonderful piece of music.
