i know it is and it sounds really good, but this kind of money... for a student not living with his parents anymore, before christmas... plus i'd really want to jump on that Phantom Flower, too...

edit: i know i could be MORE happy with more money spent... isn't it always like that? it's just not managable... maybe in the future - hopefully! i'd really want to get my hands on Fuck someday... and El Cap...and...

I've tried a lot of boutique OD's and my unlikely fav is the Rockett Animal. The tone controls are not very versitile, but it sounds incredible with everything at noon... Thumbs up!

I'd definitely recommend the And Aardvarks, or a pedal I haven't played, the Timmy. I personally don't think you'd want a Fuck. I have a Telecaster and I use the Fuck to make my Tele less "spanky" and more beefy.

If you're interested in the Timmy, get a Danelectro V1 Transparent Overdrive. I got mince for $40, and it hasn't left my board since.
It's a SOLID pedal. I gig a fair bit, and mine is in great shape. They're cheap and super freaking awesome.
They're great alone, but really excel at stacking with other pedals. I use it as a solo boost to make my fuzz pedals cut through the mix more and for more volume.
Make sure it's a V1 though. They're different than the V2s.

Danelectro is a such a shitty company, though. I guess buying used doesn't support their homophobic owner.

Exactly. You have to buy it used since it's discontinued.
