oh sorry, I though you were talking about a diode from V+ to ground.

All my diodes are facing the right direction. I took the board out to look at all my solder connections and they all look fine to me. I just tightened the shit out of the jacks. It still sounds messed up.
Are one of my diodes fried or something? I didn't socket them but I didn't want to burn them up so I made sure to solder them reeeally fast.

Plus, I'd think it'd be an open circuit if he did-- so the pedal would still work fine.
I'm stumped. I have no idea. My vote is on a connection not as tight as it should be. Cold solder joint, frayed wire, etc. But that's just a guess.
Or possibly a bad/wrong part...
I'm sure you've double checked that stuff, but... yeah. I dunno.

I was thinking I probably had a cold solder joint or bad connection so I completely rewired it and reflowed some solder joints. If the FET was burnt would it do that?
My output jacks sleeve isn't connected to anything the way I wired it. Is that alright?

It's okay if there is a strong conductive connection between the jack and the enclosure. I always wire mine to ground rather than rely on the physical connection to the case.
