?
DBA stuff leans toward the gigantic, almost always. More room for those sexy finishes?!!

the soundwave breakdown has some great sounds, but it was the most finnicky pedal I've ever had regarding placement in the fx chain.

The big enclosures certainly make them stand out.
I'm always drawn to them in shops...
but once I see it's a DBA I put it down

I liked the DBA IO Supremes I had on two occassions but I am kind of over the DBA stuff. Will never buy any of it again....but then my romance with pedals is for the most part over. I just want to play weird shit and not step on boxes so much.

Sorry dude. I just want a more direct line for the creative actions of my fingers to the eardrums of the listener. I've still got some fuzz, overdrive, and delay.

Apparently you failed to scroll down where I agreed with you...

OK then, direct lines are good I suppose.

Isn't this like the only box that Oliver uses live?

I saw 'em last year and he had a SB, Armageddon, and some custom DBA that was so beat I couldn't identify. They were among other pedals, of course, but that's the only DBA he had on the floor.

NVM, I was thinking about the Armageddon. How were they live?
A friend of mine (who's not a guitar player) said they were extremely loud, but had like varying levels of their WALL of SOUND. He was shocked they had all this old looking shit, but had a lot of depth to their sound, especially being a 3 piece.

i was talking to this girl at the local guitar shop and she says she knows the dude, and that the prices are exactly why they can't stock their pedals

They were stellar in every way but your friend's description regarding volume is right on! Each song would alternate between levels of volume, some of which were absolutely punishing "Walls Of Sound" like I've rarely witnessed live. Not sure if they had some samples running or what but the drummer wore headphones on most songs, maybe just a click track due to sheer volume

The venue ran out of earplugs so I had to MacGyver that shit, cut a cigarette filter in two and stuff my ears eventually. Talked with Oliver for awhile after, super nice guy!

See, if he's not an arrogant asshole like teh internetz seems to make him out to be, I would be cooler supporting them. Granted, it's still 'spensive. lol

Yeah, they're just too overpriced, can't argue that.
And Oliver seems like a really good dude from my limited interaction with him. Matt Conboy, the other half of DBA, can be a total asshole though in regards to servicing the shitty pedals that he himself built (according to the signature within.) I think some of his bad attitude gets transfered to Oliver and DBA in general, unfortunately.
