Yeah, I don't get this at all. The name doesn't match what it does.
I'm expecting to get a sound like a copy of a copy of a copy playback on an old tape deck....but this thing is a vibrato that is compressed? That's stupid.

I have a couple zvex pedals and I dig them. I'm not gonna lie. But yeah.. They are wildly overpriced.
The other difference between the handpainted and vexter pedals are that the handpainted ones are made in America and the vexters are made in Taiwan.
I didn't know they were making vexter probes. I totally want the wah and volume probes. I wonder if you could easily mod a wah probe to be switchable between wah and volume.

no,
all of them are prefabricated in taiwan. just the finishing happens in the us. i read that some years ago on the zvex forum when the vexter ff was announced.

Wow man that really changes my opinion of zvex. I did not know that.
My fuzz factory is still gonna be my favorite fuzz though. It just makes me feel a little weird. I dropped my whole first paycheck on that thing and I would appreciate it if they didn't cut costs with production like that and then charge such high prices.
Anyways.. I checked out the demos of this thing and yeah. It's meh. The squarewave vibrato sounded awesome and I want a piece of that but overall I'm sticking with my Cosmichorus fo sho.

to me this just looks like a chorus + compression. sounds fine for what it is, but the name is slightly off base in my opinion.
Dooooooooooooeeeeittttttttt!
BTW, I'll bet the instant lofi is just a simple PT-2399 based thing. Similar to the pitch pirate. No way he source BBD's even though you'd expect it at that price point.
I do kinda need a vibrato and a compressor though. Get ma Nels on.

It's BBD based... it aint hard sourcing BBDs if you don't use the out of production ones.

It's like how EHX says "made in USA", but they... you know... aren't.

They're assembled in the USA though aren't they? I know the boards aren't.
They're also tuned in the U.S.A I imagine for things like the BBD pedals and have the programs loaded on to the digital chips.

Really?
I've always seen it stated that the handpainted stuff is made in the States, entirely "of both US and foreign components." Is this recent or has Vex been doing this awhile now? I'm shocked more people don't bitch about this fact.
