It's hard to say who influenced me, i listened to alot of music growing up (50's beatnik jazz, military marches, oi punk, grunge) but none of that sounds like what i play. When i first set out to find my own style i decided to never learn how to play anyone else's songs, and i still can't play any except 1 Alice in Chains song on acoustic from the jar of flies album. I didn't want anyone to influence what came out of me, i wanted my creations to be true to me. People say my style is very early sabbath and neurosis influenced, but i also see alot of late 90's early 00's post-hardcore, and early shoegaze mixed in with it. I guess my inspirations were the bands i saw playing with everything they had and as if they were the only one's there, they didn't play what the fans wanted to hear they played what they needed to say.

Brian Cook, David Wm. Sims, Duane Dennison, my friend Tommy, Scott Reeder, Jonathan Nunez, and Justin Pearson. I could write paragraphs about each of their influences on my style, not only on bass, but guitar, singing (er, well, screaming) and general antics, but I have class in a few minutes, so deal.

Exactly! The idea of the bassist and piano actually interacting, especially during solos, just blew me away in high school. LaFaro just showed that you could be a bass player and not just walk lines all fucking night long.
Autumn Leaves is just about my favorite song of all time, but only when Bill Evans plays it...

I'll just list for the current styles I'm approaching in my music.
Style 1:
Johnny Ramone
Sean Bonnette
Style 2:
Isaac Brock
Zach Hill's drumming
Tune-Yards' vocal loops
Justin Vernon
John Frusciante's work in Ataxia
James Brown's Live at the Apollo
Keith Levene
How to Dress Well
I think that's accurate enough for both.

Well I probably can't walk a good bass line anymore, since it has been 10 years since I played in a jazz band.
