Saw one of those in a local GC. It wasn't there for very long.

Yeah I think the Sunn is the win but the Acoustic price is the real win...

Seems like no one does this anymore. makes me wanna learn amp building and make the awesome simple amps.

Remember, amps aren't loud-- speakers are. : D

But I can vouch that that Acoustic 150 is pretty sweet. But mine needs a cap job... and I wanna sell it. But yeah. It's sweet.

Ye but even if ya have a head putting out 15 watts and and 200 watt speaker, it won't be real loud, just clear...or am I wrong? If not, I got a whole nother thing coming.

No, that's relatively correct.

The important thing is to avoid overpowering your speakers. a 15 watt amp will be much quieter than a 100 watt head into the same cab.

Plus, then, you can always buy another 2x15 and have a decent amp!

the new orange th30 head has 2 channels and only 3 knobs per channel, and its 7/15/30 watts so it seems pretty versatile

Another shitty point regarding Orange: I've had trouble with newer Oranges and pedals, lots of noise and mush, just heartbreaking to realize your pedals hate your amp or vice versa. Opposite experience with the older Orange wares though...
