I've played lp's, strats, tele's, semi hollows, etc. Some were nice, others weren't. I can't say the types as a whole are bad because I played one that wasn't great.

Happy with my tele and semi hollow. Mostly the latter

I have a tele, a jazzmaster, a hollowbody lp and I have owned a mij strat. I traded the strat for the jazzmaster because the strat was heavy as fuck and it kinda hurt my shoulder after a while, but more importantly I couldn't quite get behind the sound. It somehow could push through the densest of my fuzzes giving it a weird almost clean sound. It was a nice guitar though. I used to have intense hate for all things popular, but now I just don't care. If it works and you like it, use it.
