Only ever tried two delays in my life...a Memory Boy (warm and vintage-y, but couldn't get past the noise and the non-TBP'd lfo)
and the built in digital delay of a Bose speaker/amp system (actually surprisingly good, but only for really pristine The Edge-esque delay)

I've heard alot of delays that I like..but never actually played any others. :idk:

ive only used the delay on my midiverb 4, a few settings i enjoyed but its fairly annoying to tweak the settings often so i dont want to use that unit for a delay. my roomates got a tc nova repeater and ive liked what ive heard from him using it, gonna see if i can borrow it and see how i like it. i really need a delay for my board

Interesting deal for the eurotrash amongst us, expires on Sunday, € 225 shipping included over at http://www.crushthebutton.be/ not sure if this has the effects loop that DMB recently added.

Repeat times are enough to harmonize with myself(very key to my sound) and I can use it for a standalone modulation. Plus, the square wave modulation option is fanfuckingtastic.

With you 100%. I love my Memory Boy. (I also have a Disaster Transport, Memory Toy, and Stereo Memory Man)

The only two people here I know of having one haven't posted in this thread yet :p

I'm a big fan of the original memory man. I've also been using a roland space echo, not the prettiest thing but it has it's uses for sure.

Just got a DMB about a month ago and love the shit out of it. I don't know how I got by without expression control of feedback until now.

I really dig the skreddy echo. I can get lost with that thing for hours.

El Cap is 2nd for me.

Exactly this, but switch the order for me.

Timeline.

I'm going to go TGP route and say, even though I haven't played one yet, that this is really my favorite delay. I mean it contains my #1 (the El Cap), so even if the rest of the settings suck, the Timeline wins due to big box mojo.

GodDAMN man! Somebody please turn BCBC on to a fancier delay pedal so I can try to get this on the flip!

I have the Flashback, and i really like it, but i don't feel qualified to opine on "favorite delays" because i haven't played that many of them, including many of the bog-standard ones like the Memory Man group. i don't have the knowledge to compare it to the El Cap, etc. as i've said elsewhere, if the Flashback had more tweakability it'd be the greatest thing since sliced cheese. of the other stuff i have/use, i like the Akai Head Rush for faux Space Echo stuff--you can get pretty good emulations of most of the head combinations using the Head Gap and Ratio controls--but i mainly use it for looping. i also use the PodXT tape echo sims on occasion as well as the Boss RV-3, which is sonically limited and arbitrary but does its five or six things very well indeed and makes me feel like Neil Halstead..

Hey dubkitty, do the repeats gradually degrade on the Head Rush when you're looping? That's like my favorite effect.

Also I should add that I haven't tried too many delays either. I just really like my El Cap. I've had an SMMH, a Boss PS-3 (super harsh repeats), and tried some others at shops though.

actually i've been thinking about it a lot lately... but it's a lot of money and i'm afraid it would compete with my Faux Tape Echo

when i buy a second delay i want it to complement the first one (or to replace it on purpose)... so... not sure if i really want to go for it

I know what you mean. When I got serious about buying a delay the clips for the skreddy sounded better than everything else. It does lack the versatility of the el cap or the ehx delays, but it makes up for it in the sound.
