It's "Tahiti Green" and it has a cream pick guard.
Like this, except right handed:

It comes with the OHSC too!
That just looks swanky! yes Swanky is the right word.

It comes with a the original hard case.
As far as the Fuzz goes there is always room for more of that.

Mine's in C# standard, feels great on that guitar.
Is the Seafoam a bolt-on or set neck like the 50th?
My buddy has a "baby blue" MS526 with a dark wood stained neck, looks super cool imo, better than all blue. I think the Seafoam comes the same way

Yeah, it's a bolt on but not that dark.

Swanky indeed!

The owner of the used MS500 decided he wanted $950 instead of $850.
Thus, his reluctance to sell and my eagerness to buy were separated by $100.
Now, I'm back to square two and trying to decide if I should buy the 50th Anniversary new for $1550 or not.

What? That's fucking ridiculous, that dude should get a preemptive ban from ILF...
That 50th anniversary is one sweet piece of wood. But it would feel weird to blow that kind of money on a guitar I hadn't played. So in your spot I'd either wait for a crazy deal to pop up, which is what I do, or try to find someone who owns one nearby so that I could at least try another of the same kind. What about resale value? How much would you lose in case you don't want to keep that beauty?

No worries.
That's what made the $850 so inciting.
I knew if I didn't like it, I wouldn't lose much if I sold it.
I think you're right about waiting for a deal.
The only problem is most of the good deals are in AU and shipping eats the savings.

Tell me about it... We should make a trip to OZ, hang with some ILFers there (definitely'd want to check out benny bananas collection) and both come home with a majestic sunburn and a dirt cheap mint used Maton. Hell, I might even find a Frostwave Resonator.

Sad that this is actually one of the only ways to both play a wide selection and get a good price on a Maton. I scoured listings for 2 years before traveling 5 hours to both play and purchase my first.
I'd offer the dude $900, a fair price depending on year and condition. Unlikely one will come around any cheaper (that you can actually play first).
As for resale, not many people in the States even know about Maton, definitely kind of a specialty market.

That's another thing, I wouldn't have been able to play it first either.
It was going to be shipped. The original price offered
to me was $800. The additional $50 was to cover shipping.
I may have paid $900 or even $950 if that was the original offer.
There are plenty of guitars out there though, I'm sure I'll find something.

Yeah cause people changing their mind on what is a fair price after speaking too soon is absolutely ridiculous and a ban-able offense

Come on, Dude, I was joking!

No worries.
I'm going to keep my eye out for what ever brand that comes along and piques my interest.

i'd think that with a marketing agent that was even marginally more aggressive/proactive, Maton could do much better in the US market than they currently are. the guitars look to be excellent, and they've got Tommy Emmanuel, one of the most respected acoustic instrumental guitarists in the world, as an endorser for their acoustic line. i don't understand why they don't try to get more of a foothold. look at what the Seagull/Godin companies have been able to do from Canada into the US and EU/UK markets.

Right, and Josh Homme endorsing the electric line, hard to believe the lack of dealers/availability in the States.
Spoke with a Maton rep about it once and he basically said they're "busy enough" as is and don't focus much on conquering foreign markets. Regardless, you'd think they'd try and crack the US a bit, nice option for those who want something beyond a Gibson or Fender. If more people could get their hands on one to try out, they'd definitely start picking up steam over here.
