There was a band playing on the steps of a college here, about a year ago. The guitarist just tremolo picked a single note for the entirety of a song.
When it was over, the bass player introduced him as "The Edge"

I don't like any member of U2: And I get tired of guitarists saying, "Wow look at all those pedals, just like the edge"
