I'm undecided on what that guitar should be, though! I've been wanting a Les Paul, but all of them that I've tried have just felt really terrible.
Gibson doesn't seem to be making much of a quality product these days.
So what do you think, dudes? What would be radd?
I have a killer Strat and a killer Tele, and a decent cheap axe with 'buckers. What's next?
if you want a paul look into the trad pros!
love them so hard, only pauls I've ever actually dug
I might be able to hook you up brah, hit me up if you're interested, yo

An old LP Deluxe w/ miniHBs. Or an older Junior/Special w/ P90.

a really nice new-ish Les Paul
a new Rickenbacker 360 six-string
something with an aluminum neck
a new Gretsch White Falcon or 1958 Country Gentleman RI
old ES-335 or Epiphone Riviera 12-string
old Gibson or Guild semi-hollow bass
a really good six-string jumbo (17") acoustic flattop
or an old Marshall head.

seems to me an aluminum guitar that thin is going back to the original problem they had with the Velenos...they were so thin that they were unstable tuning-wise because they expanded/contracted with temperature fluctuation. Todd Rundgren said the stage lights made his Veleno go out of tune.

Though that is a logical concern, it doesn't explain the insanely huge amount of bands using EGC instruments these days. I don't think that Isis and Torche would be using them if they went out of tune easily. In fact, when I saw Torche live, I was surprised by how little the bass player had to tune. He only turned on his tuner to tune between drop-D and standard.
