Nobody will mistake a fuzzface for a muff, but once you get into muff vs muff it's a lot of opinion/conjecture.

It's too bad you still don't have that Malekko Echo. That would look real slick with all that fuzz. It'd match a lot nicer that SMM too. :!!!:

Hey all,
I saw this thread and thought I would share some info on the Sovtek muffs.
As far as I know, from tracing out originals, there are only three different versions between all of the Sovtek muffs.
The original Red Army Overdrive version 1, Civil War, and the very early Green Russian V1 are all the same.
Red Army version 2 is different from all of them.
Green Russian version 2 and the Black Russian are the same.

Today I played a beat to hell original Sovtek Green Muff and I loved it. Rawer and more open than any muff I had previously played. I want to find a clone with that same raw openness.

Ya, but the originals need to be boosted because of volume loss and have reliability issues... i want everything the original has to offer without those issues lol.

1. shit no, this things loud as hell (to me at least), I barely ever turn the volume knob past 12
2. the paint scratches but other than that, the thing is built like a tank

Yeah no volume loss on either my V1 green russian, big box black russian or small box black russian. If there's a volume loss there's something wrong with the/your pedal.
